Appraisal Strategy Development
Collaborate with the client to define the scope, goals, and objectives of the benchmark appraisal. Determine the specific CMMI model and level that will be the benchmark, as well as the industries or organizations against which the benchmark will be compared.
Lead Appraiser Selection
Identify a lead appraiser who possesses extensive experience and expertise in conducting CMMI benchmark appraisals. The lead appraiser should have a strong understanding of the chosen CMMI model and its application across various industries.
Appraisal Planning
Collaborate with the client and the lead appraiser to develop a comprehensive appraisal plan. This plan outlines the schedule, roles and responsibilities, data collection methods, and evaluation criteria
Follow-Up Support

Appraisal Report
Prepare a comprehensive appraisal report that summarizes the findings of the benchmark appraisal. This report should include an overview of the client's performance, a comparison with benchmark organizations, identified gaps, and recommended improvement strategies. This report will be provided by the lead appraiser as per the requirements of the method definition document stipulated by the CMMI Institute.
